Wanderlust Ireland Tour Itinerary

Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation.

Wednesday, April 10 - DUBLIN ARRIVAL

Land at Dublin Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities before independently transferring to your nearby hotel. Once you have checked in and settled into your room, spend the afternoon at leisure. After an independent dinner, enjoy a musical pub crawl of Dublin. Visit many of the popular pubs that boast traditional Irish music.

This morning, visit the Guinness Storehouse to learn about the famous stout and why it is so popular. Also, enjoy the Guinness Connoisseur Experience, a premium tasting event unlike any other in Ireland. Next, board your luxury motorcoach and travel to Kilkenny for a look around. Continue to Cork, where you will check in for your overnight stay. You may wish to relax or freshen up before dining on your own.

Today, take a brief walking tour of Kinsale. The town has been a favorite for artists due to its steep, narrow streets, quirky shopfronts and many fine Georgian houses. Next, visit Charles Fort, which was constructed in the late 17th century on the site of an earlier coastal fortification. As one of the largest military forts in the country, Charles Fort has been associated with some of the most momentous events in Irish history. Return to Cork, where the balance of the day is at leisure.

Saturday, April 13 - DINGLE COOKERY SCHOOL

Leave Cork and travel to the rugged countryside to Dingle. Stop at Dingle Cookery School, which offers a variety of classes for all skill levels. Enjoy a hands-on cooking demonstration, where students can perfect their cooking skills. Next, tour Dingle Distillery, which has created a distinctive Irish twist of their own whiskey, gin and vodka. Then check into your hotel for your overnight stay. Once you settle in, you are free for individual pursuits and dining.

Sunday, April 14 - KAYAKING & SLEA HEAD

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely kayaking excursion on Dingle Bay.  Next, travel to Slea Head at the western tip of the Dingle Peninsula. This excursion will give you excellent views of mountains and coastline and looking over to the Iveragh Peninsula. Head back to Dingle, where you can sightsee, shop and dine on your own.

Depart Dingle and take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon Estuary. Then have an independent lunch in Lahinch before driving to the town of Doolin, where you will board a ferry. Next, take a voyage of discovery along the shoreline to view the majestic Cliffs of Moher. On a clear day, you may be able to see as far as the Kerry Mountains, Aran Islands and the Twelve Bens of Connemara. Return to Doolin and visit the Doolin Music House (subject to availability). While here, listen to live traditional Irish music with your group. After your visit, check into your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Tuesday, April 16 - NATIONAL STUD

Leaving Doolin, travel through County Tipperary and County Offaly to Kildare. Upon arrival visit the Irish National Stud, which will show you the history and current trends of horse-breeding in Ireland before viewing the magnificent horses. Then take a walk around the truly spectacular Japanese Gardens, an artistic representation of the “Life of Man” from cradle to grave. Then transfer to your hotel, check in and settle into your room. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying across the Atlantic Ocean back to the United States.
